Fight Night Highlights
We recently we wrapped up our 4 part Fortitude Rising video series with an action packed night at The Fortitude Music Hall. It was a privilege to be involved in an amazing night which was so much more than just a boxing event. Only a few months ago the Fortitude Boxing Gym was devastated by a fire that burnt their long time home to the ground, losing everything.
This event on a Friday night not only featured two title fights, but was also a fundraiser to help legendary Brisbane Boxing Trainer and Fortitude Gym Head Coach & Owner Steve Deller after a tumultuous time.
Our deep thanks to Steve and his team who let us inside the inner sanctum during the week of the fight to capture the fighters during their final preparations. Congratulations also on an incredible night which brought in a huge crowd.
To the main event fighters themselves Ben Kite & Conor Wallace, thank you for your trust and letting us get up close & personal in the days before the biggest fight of your careers. You’re both incredible athletes who work hard and were rewarded for your efforts with resounding victories on the night.
Thank you also to everyone to viewed and shared our fight week videos.
Checkout our Fortitude Rising highlights videos above and read on for our snapshot review of the two amazing title fights.
Looking forward to seeing both Ben and Conor move onto even bigger fights coming their way soon.
DOUBLE VICTORY FOR FORTITUDE FIGHTERS
Conor Wallace is the new Australian Light Heavyweight Title Holder after a bloody fight over Mitchell ‘The White Lion Whitelaw’ at the
Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane.
The bout was stopped at the end of the 5th round by the doctor after Wallace sustained a deep gash to his right eye after an accidental head clash in the 3rd round.
The fight went to the judges scorecards with all 3 awarding a unanimous points decision to the Irish born fighter.
While Whitelaw was working his way back into the fight, the clear early dominance of Wallace proved decisive to get the W and improve his record to a perfect 7-0.
In the night's main event, Banging Benny Kite retained his Australasian Welterweight Title with a dominant points victory over Sydney based fighter Ben Savva.
Kite looked strong from the opening bell and never gave an inch with an exceptional performance over 10 rounds.
All the 3 judges scored the fight heavily in favour of the Kite who will now be on the hunt for even bigger fights to go further up the rankings.
